Welcome to the first episode of Club D – the diabetes podcast from Switzerland. In the first episode we get to know Manuel C. Widmer. The 56-year-old primary school teacher, politician and DJ has had diabetes for 25 years. He likes to cook and describes himself as a TV junkie, and is a YB and FC Breitenrain fan. With his diabetes he sometimes feels a little alone. Maybe we can all get together with Club D and talk about our diabetes! Manuel has an excellent HbA1C of 5.7 – which he explains by saying that he is „very strict“ with himself. Our expert Prof. Hendryk Zulewski from the Triemli Hospital in Zurich answers the question: „Can a very good HbA1C also be dangerous?“
